Basic courses - Suitable for those with less than five years industry experience

COPYWRITING

Emphasizing of concept of copywriting, how to bring ideas to paper. Thinking about strategy and research, writing with clarity, eliminating the right words, how to use sentence fragments, humor etc. 

CONCEPTING
Idea finding techniques, developing concepts for a wide range of advertising categories. 

INTEGRATED CONCEPTING
Using conceptual skills and transporting ideas into various media around one strong idea. Developing a core thought to roll out as a campaign.

Advanced Courses - Suitable for those who have completed the courses above or have strong industry experience of over 5 years. 

STORY TELLING & WRITING 

Communication in its purest form - being one of the oldest endeavours of humankind. Writing stories and backstories. Development of expressions. The core of a story and the idea behind. Covering: Plot structure, exposition, climax, resolution, character development, conflict, personality and actions. The idea behind the story. Developing writing skills that cover concept and excitement, idea and branding and still making it joyful to read and understand. 

ADVANCED CONCEPTING
Continued study of ad concepts in various product fields. Fine-tuning the idea and finding the essence of a concept. Covering: Review of habits and thinking structures, defining the brand core and the advertising idea. Development of concept and thinking structures. 

ADVANCED INTEGRATED CAMPAIGNS 
Continued study of integrated campaigns in all medias. Finding opportunities and benefits. Thinking media neutral and finding appropriate media for the developed idea. Covering: the role of research and involving planning, discussion of branding. How to be creative in boring categories and still entertain. Marketing to multiple age/demographics. Discussion of medias and definition of key media for campaigns. 


PROGRAM STRUCTURE

TARGET
Agency creatives, aspiring creatives, other agency staff as well as brand and communication managers.

DURATION
Each course starts at the beginning of every quarter and holds once every week for 10 weeks

LOCATION
Class Location - 18 Esomo Close, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos with video conferencing link to tutorial staff in Miami Ad School Berlin Campus. 

TIME
5:30pm – 8:30pm 

FEE
N150,000 per participant per course
N 400,000 for the 3 basic or advanced courses if done in the same quarter (save N50,000).

TUTORS


J. J. LING, Copywriter

Born in Jamaica, brought up in Singapore and living in the US, J.J’s career is about as convoluted as his history. He has dabbled in many professions, amongst them; bartending, anime voice acting, dog training, teaching at a kindergarten and being in the army, all of which taught him the valuable life lesson of - bonsai trimming. Thus, Miami Ad School (Hamburg) was obviously the next logical step.

Having sampled agency life at TBWA/Singapore, 10AM, Ogilvy/Paris, LOWE/New York and Duval Guillaume/Brussels, J.J’s current rental lease is 10min away from Jung von Matt/Spree, Berlin. His clients have varied from Adidas, Sony-Ericsson, Perrier, SAAB, Nikon, DHL and Mercedes Benz. His
awards include those won at New York Festivals, Graphis, Clios and the One Show. To this day he still speaks to and sleeps with all of them, much as he would treat bonsai.


NADINE NEDREBOE, Copywriter

Nadine was born in Sweden where she studied journalism before going into advertising.
Versatile and eager to learn creatively, fluent in 5 languages, specialized in copywriting for advertising at renowned Miami Ad School. Conceptual thinker for creative solutions within ATL, BTL, online and new media channels, with great skills in writing for commercial purposes, together with a deep understanding of craft and execution within the creative industries.

She grew better after every agency she was part of, as LOWE, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mother NYC, Duval Guillaume NYC, Jung von Matt, TBWA. She worked for clients like Mercedes Benz, IKEA, DHL, Whiskas, Pedigree, McDonalds, through ABSOLUT Vodka, Right now she is working at DDB-Hubble in Berlin writing concepts for Reebok.


TERESA JUNG, Art Director

Teresa Jung was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. She went to school in Wiesbaden  and studied Arts and Crafts at Kerschensteiner Schule. After graduation she moved to Hamburg to study Art Direction at Miami Ad School Europe.

Teresa gained a broad international experience while working at agencies around the world: from northern European Stockholm over to the American San Francisco and then jumping to the far eastern part of the globe landing in Manila, in the Philippines. Pontus Frankenstein, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy and BBDO are the agencies that gave her the space to sharpen her skills.

In 2008 she moved to Berlin to work for the Advertising Agency HEIMAT Berlin. Today she still works there as an Art Director.

Teresa won a bunch of professional international awards such as EPICA, NY Festival,
Clio, Lead Awards, ADC, EACA Euro Effies, London International Awards, Year Book of Advertising and many others.
